Privacy statement
Updated
This statement explains what information is handled when you visit Chicken Road Australia, why it is handled and what choices you have. We have written it with the Australian Privacy Principles in mind.
Who we are
Chicken Road Australia is an independent editorial site about a single casino game. We do not take bets, open player accounts or sell products, and you never need to register to read anything here.
What is collected automatically
Every time your browser requests a page, it shares some technical details, such as your IP address, browser and device type, language, the page that sent you and the pages you view. We look at this information in aggregate to keep the site running, fix faults and see which pages people find useful.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and record clicks on our buttons, including the ones that lead to partner sites. It relies on cookies or similar identifiers to tell visits apart. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or to identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or install Google's opt-out add-on, and the site will keep working.
The demo
The game demo does not load until you press its play button. At that point your browser connects to InOut Games' servers, which handle the session under their own terms. Before you press, nothing is sent to them.
Fonts
Our typefaces come from Google Fonts. To download them, your browser shares your IP address with Google, as it would with any external file.
Partner links
Some buttons lead to partner sites through a redirect page on this domain. If you sign up there, we may receive a commission at no cost to you. Once you leave us, the other site's privacy policy applies, so read it before you hand over personal details.
Overseas handling
The services mentioned above are run by companies that may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers that publish their own privacy and security commitments.
How long information is kept
Analytics data is kept for the period set in the service, no longer than 14 months, and then deleted or anonymised. Short-lived server logs are kept for security and troubleshooting and then removed automatically.
Your choices
You can ask what information relates to you and request a correction. Because we hold so little, most requests are quick to answer. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Security
Pages are served over an encrypted HTTPS connection by a hosting provider that only delivers the files you ask for. There are no accounts, comment boxes or forms on this site, so there is no database of visitors for anyone to lose. We keep the number of outside services to the few listed on this page.
Contacting us about your information
Tell us what you would like to know or correct and, if it is relevant, roughly when you visited, so that we can check the analytics records. We aim to answer within 30 days and will never ask for more than we need to deal with the request.
Under 18s
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 and we do not promote gambling to them.
Do Not Track and browser controls
Your browser's privacy settings, content blockers and private windows all limit what analytics can record, and the site works normally with any of them switched on.
Changes
If the way we handle information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
